In 1999, Mrs. Georgia Lloyd of Chicago, a long-time supporter of cooperatives, left CDF a bequest of $136,000. It is an "opportunity fund" to be used to give larger grants to potentially significant cooperative projects that don't fall under any of CDF's other funds.

Grants given include:

- $2000 in 2001 to print and mail a forestry manual
- $20,000 in 2001 to WoodWorks to write a business planl
- $22,500 in 2002 for the Cooperative Futures Inititiative
- $20,000 in 2003 to NCBA for the Urban Initiative
- $6000 in 2004 to the Campus Credit Union Council for a credit union initiative at HBCUs

United Co-op Appeal Fund

The United Co-op Appeal (UCA) is an annual workplace giving program that raises unrestricted dollars for cooperative development. It is administered by the Cooperative Development Foundation. 100% of contributions go to the UCA recipient organizations that use the cooperative model to bring self-help and economic development to individuals and communities across the U.S. and overseas. Since it was created, UCA has raised over $1 million to support the cooperative development work of the UCA recipient organizations. Listed on the back of this sheet are the cooperative development organizations that participated in the 2007 UCA campaign.
