Volunteer
Volunteering for the 5k Race
Volunteers are an essential part of the Race for Cooperative Development. Without their help we would not be able to manage such an event, let alone with such efficiency. Volunteers will be asked to do one of a variety of things. Certain responsibilities include:
Course Marshalls - placed along course to provide directions to runners and ensure their safety from any oncoming obstacles.
Water Mates - cheer on the runners while offering them some crisp, clear, co-op water!
Food Mates - hand out bagels, coffee, bananas to participants before and after the race
Set up - setting up involves getting to the course at around 6AM and helping establish registration, course markings, and food areas
Tear Down - tearing down takes about an hour and then you are on your way to freedom!
Registration - most important position. Making sure runners have all necessary equipment - That they are checked in, have their shirts, have their bib numbers, and have their timing chips. Also responsible for any day of registrants and getting them situated with the previously mentioned items.
If you are interested in volunteering, please fill out this very quick form. If you have any preference on the support you would like to provide, please write that in the document. You will be contacted as the race approaches for more detailed information on the process of the race and how you will be expected to help.
All volunteers are eligible for GREAT raffle prizes, including tickets to DC pro-sports teams and certificates to fancy restaurants.
Thank you for your help!
